MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD AWARDS

26 June 2026

Winners from the Month of the Military Child competition came to The Guards’ Chapel in London for a very special award ceremony.

Each winner shared about their work to a room of distinguished guests and they received their personalised certificates and a booklet featuring their winning work.

The parent of one of the winners shared: We were so proud and excited for Catherine. The children support us everyday; being brave when we deploy and taking care of each other at all times. It was so great to celebrate Catherine and her achievements, truly the best feeling!. Her daughter shared, It meant a great deal to me to win because it’s fun to be a military child and I really enjoy being one. My favourite part of the day was when the other kids read their poems out, they were so brave.

The young people also received a special message from Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, We recognise the Month of the Military Child and the important role you play within the Armed Forces family. I understand that service life brings both opportunity and challenge, including frequent moves and time apart from a parent. Your resilience and contribution are valued, and you have my sincere respect.  Thank you to all who shared poetry and artwork this year. As ever, your work was of a high standard and reflects considerable thought and effort. Those recognised should be especially proud. Our appreciation extends well beyond this month and remains constant throughout the year.
