Together: A UK-German Centenary Project

Video by Eda Zorbozan

During this final year of the centenary, we have embarked on a youth-centred UK-German creative arts project with kind support from the British Embassy in Berlin, Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge, and UK-German Connection.

We invited schools and educational groups to participate in our project, Together, providing the opportunity for young people aged 9-16 from the UK and Germany to work in partnership, or independently, to produce poetry, art or songs that are inspired by our shared history.

Winners will be announced on or before Friday 14th September and will be invited to a very special event at the British Embassy in Berlin this November.

Our event at the British Embassy in Berlin will see winners presented with their certificates by the Ambassador and will be an opportunity for winners to showcase their work to a distinguished audience.

We want those that participate in Together to take pride in their contribution and so every entrant will receive a personalised Certificate of Commendation. These will be sent out in late September.

A selection of entries that were submitted early have been published in the Never Such Innocence Legacy Book, due out in a book shop near you this autumn.

Winners will be chosen from UK-German partnered projects, German-only projects, and UK-only projects. Submissions were accepted from individuals and groups. You may read our competition rules by clicking the below:
