Commemorating seventy-five years since the end of the Second World War

Did you know that in the year 2020 it will be seventy-five years since the end of the Second World War? Can you create a poem, speech, song or piece of artwork commemorating the end of this global conflict?

Your work could be inspired by a person, group of people, location, community, the celebratory emotions for the war being over, commemoration of those that were lost, the hope for the future or something that is meaningful to you on the subject.

This project is in partnership with Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge. They will be providing special prizes for 4 of the winners of the 16-18 age group in Poetry and Art, from the UK and Germany!

Art: One German Student and One UK Student

Poetry: One German Student and One UK Student

In order to participate, you will need to tick the box ‘75’ on the entry form!

Prize: A slot in The Volksbund summer camp in Germany!

During the camp, students from across Europe will discuss history and peace building topics, help maintain commemoration sites, visit local points of interest, and build relationships with young people from around the world. Travel to the location and cost of camp will be covered by The Volksbund and NSI.
